What's left, and how much longer for Stern? (AP)

After 25 years of taking the NBA around the globe, David Stern still isn't ready to stay at home. Not when so many challenges remain, so many new opportunities exist to grow the sport. And certainly not when he still loves the game of basketball so much. So as Stern this weekend reaches the 25th anniversary of his appointment as commissioner, one of the longest and most successful tenures in sports...

Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James reacts to call in the first half of a NBA basketball game against the Los Angeles Lakers, Monday, Jan. 19, 2009, in Los Angeles. The Lakers won 105-88.

Dislocated right ring finger and all, Kobe Bryant did just what the Los Angeles Lakers needed against the Cleveland Cavaliers. So did his teammates. Bryant and LeBron James tussled to a virtual standoff Monday night, but Bryant's supporting cast was far more effective, and that was the difference as the Lakers beat Cleveland 105-88 to snap a five-game losing streak to the Cavaliers.
