LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers generated a playoff-like atmosphere at Philips Arena. Dallas Mavericks center Erick Dampier(notes) (25) attempts to block a shot by Cleveland Cavaliers forward Anderson Varejao(notes) (17), of Brazil, in the second half of an NBA basketball game, Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009, in Dallas. The Mavericks won 102-95.

With a bunch of versatile veterans, the Dallas Mavericks figure they can play any style of game and with any configuration of their lineup. That means they even like their chances against, say, LeBron James and Shaquille O'Neal on a night when Dirk Nowitzki is in street clothes. Seem silly? Not after the Nowitzki-less Mavs beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 102-95 Sunday night.
